Camp Invention Celebrates Women’s History Month

Together, we can encourage every girl to think creatively, lead confidently and realize her innovative potential.

Currently, only 18 percent of patented inventors are women.  If we continue at the current rate, it could take over 100 more years to reach gender parity.  We can help close this gap by giving more girls the opportunity to experience our Camp Invention program.

Through hands-on activities inspired by National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) Inductees, we can provide girls with valuable exposure to innovation and increase the number of women who will shape the future.

Since March is Women’s History Month, Camp Invention is taking this opportunity to focus on girls in STEM by hosting a nationwide contest!  At the National Inventors Hall of Fame, we believe that innovation is for everyone. We are committed to closing the current gaps in innovation rates, and this initiative focuses on the gender gap.

Every girl who registers for Camp Invention using one of our campaign promo codes will be entered into the contest. One name will be randomly selected on April 1st.  This child’s camp becomes the winning camp.  All participants at the winning camp will receive a copy of the book Abby Invents Unbreakable Crayons, by Arlyne Simon, PhD.  Arlyne is a biochemical engineer, author, inventor, entrepreneur and 2013 CIC finalist.  Arlyne will visit the winning camp to meet with campers and do a live book signing.
