Cactus Ranch Elementary Launches Level Up Village

CACTUS RANCH ELEMENTARY LAUNCHES LEVEL UP VILLAGE

2nd Grade Students at Cactus Ranch Elementary are connecting with peers in Jordan for communication, collaboration and cultural exchange.

Round Rock, Texas. – March 19, 2018 – Cactus Ranch Elementary today announced it has partnered with Level Up Village to offer innovative global STEAM programming that will connect students to peers from Jordan. Cactus Ranch Elementary chose to partner with Level Up Village because the global collaboration component of the program fits in with CRES’s Global Communications strand of the School of Communication goals.

All second graders will participate in the Level Up Village Course called Global Storybook Engineers. In this course, together with their global partner, students learn fables, stories and myths from different cultures – and then explore how they can re-engineer the outcome using household and crafting materials!

“We are thrilled to work with Cactus Ranch Elementary School to create a vibrant, global classroom experience where students not only develop essential 21st Century skills, but also the mindset they need to become the next generation of truly global citizens,” said Amy McCooe, CEO and Co-Founder of Level Up Village. “Our goal is to make it easy for schools to globalize the classroom by providing them with fully developed curricula, comprehensive teaching training and experienced management of the global collaboration process.”

Level Up Village empowers children to make a difference in the world with courses that promote design thinking and one-to-one collaboration on real-world problems between K-9 students in the U.S. and Global Partner students in 20+ countries. U.S. school partners directly sponsor Global STEAM education in developing countries through LUV’s “Take a Class, Give a Class” model. Level Up Village is the first organization to receive the ISTE Seal of Alignment at the Proficiency Level for the 2016 ISTE Standards for Students. LUV’s pioneering global STEAM courses also align with NGSS and Common Core standards and are connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs.)
